UpNorth Music
In this major studio outreach project, NCPR took its studio on the road in 2006 and 2007 to record over 100 sessions with musicians throughout the region. Download original performances and compositions, or podcast performances and interviews at the project website below. NCPR is launching a 2008 concert tour featuring acts from the project, and will release a 3-CD compendium set, Music Heard UpNorth, in January 2008. New performers will be recorded as the project continues.

North Country Reads
"One book" programs encourage the whole community, whether it be village, country or state, to read and talk about the same book. North Country Reads is one such project involving the communities of Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties. In our third year, 2008, we are proud to present The Language of Baklava, by Diana Abu-Jaber, as our selection. The project features an author tour of North Country communities and a live broadcast of the author on NCPR's Readers & Writers program.

The service offers readings of various national newspapers and magazines. NCPR distributes specially-tuned receivers to qualified individuals, so they can access the service which is broadcast on the stations subcarrier.
